Mary was my niece, the daughter of my sisiter Joan.My first memories of Mary go back to 1957. I was serving with the Royal Air Force in Malta, when I received a telegram from my mother to tell me I was the "uncle of a lovely little girl" When she was fifteen Mary was a demure bridesmaid at our wedding. My enduring memories of Mary are of someone who had a great zest for life; she dived to the bottom of the sea to explore ancient wrecks, jumped out of aeroplanes and always enjoyed the outdoors. Mary was kind and looked for the best in people.
