I only had the privilege of getting to know Mary for a short time before her diagnosis. She lived life to the full and will be much missed by many. She had a keen mind, loved learning and was a real encouragement to me to take life's chances and make the most of what we are offered. It was hard spending time with her when I knew her life would soon end, but I am grateful now for the good memories from these times. Clare, I never met you, but your Mum always spoke so proudly of you and clearly thought the world of you. I am sure she is now at peace in heaven, looking down on you with love.
